How to Correctly Collect a Sample
Basic Information
The sample collection is done using the swab provided in the sampling kit, which is supplied by the company upon request.
Before taking the sample, correctly and fully complete the consent form, as well as the questionnaire located inside each sampling kit.
After obtaining the sample, the swab should be securely closed, along with the completed consent form and questionnaire, placed in a shipping envelope (preferably with bubble wrap) without an ice pack. During the summer months, the sample should be shipped with an accompanying ice pack, as high temperatures can alter the sample.
Attention: Avoid any contact with the swab tip.
Sample Collection Procedure
The client-patient's mouth should be clean for at least one hour before sampling (abstain from food, liquids, smoking, chewing gum - candy, toothpaste, dental floss - solution, or lipstick). The excreted saliva should be swallowed immediately before sampling.
Cells are collected from the inside of the cheek by rubbing for at least 3-4 minutes. Ideally, the healthcare professional times it, and the client collects the cells from the inside of their mouth themselves. The goal of sampling is to collect as many cells as possible from the inside of the cheek.
Step 1
Mark the name of the individual under examination and the date of sample collection on the specialized collection tubes.
Step 2
Open the plastic cover and carefully remove the sterilized cell collection swab.
Step 3
Holding the plastic handle, place the specialized tip between the gums and the inner cheek wall, after swallowing excess saliva. Rub the tip against the inner cheek wall in all directions for 3-4 minutes, similar to brushing your teeth.
Step 4
Place the swab back into its case, carefully closing the plastic cover.
Step 5
Insert the collection tube containing the biological material for analysis into the specialized response envelope, along with the completed consent forms and questionnaire.

Next Steps
The healthcare professional receives a unique customer code to later identify the anonymous genetic results (ensuring personal data protection).
It takes at least 5-6 weeks to receive the results.
Genosophy needs to coordinate with the healthcare professional before distributing the analysis to the client, in order to fully explain the visualized results to the patient.
